"The Precision Biosystems Laboratory is focused on the creation and application of miniaturized, high-throughput, biological instrumentation to advance the biological sciences, in particular genetics and neuroscience. The lab fabricates robotic and small-scale devices capable of rapidly performing time-consuming biological tasks; in particular, the lab has developed and will continue to develop an automated patch-clamping robot and will also be focusing on the automated classification of neurons on a large scale. By developing these kinds of high-throughput methods, the lab hopes to greatly advance the types of experiments that can be performed in computational neuroscience."
