The Computation Neuroethology lab employs employs theoretically motivated experimentation and computational analyses to investigate questions at the interface between the behavioral and neural sciences. Currently, the lab focuses on the neural basis for the perception of acoustic communication signals, using mice as a model system. To do this, the lab uses a variety of methods, including electrophysiology, immunohistochemistry, genetic studies and, most relevantly, extensive computational modeling and analysis of neuronal data. The lab is extensively involved in the use of information theory and predictive methods in the generation of models.
