Dr. Rainnie studies the cellular and molecular processes underlying psychopathological conditions such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD. The lab aims to incorporate its previous fundamental studies of the circuitry of the amygdala into a computational neural network model. In collaboration with Dr. Jaeger and Dr. Prinz, the dynamic clamp technique is used to study network characteristics and model predictions. In addition, the lab is interested in perform high-level computational analysis of Deep Brain Stimulation, a new clinical procedure of significant import.
