Allison Del Giorno

Degree: Electrical Engineering, minor in Biomedical Engineering, Georgia Tech (graduated in 2013)

Research Interests: worked in Rob Butera's lab; currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in computer science at Carnegie Mellon 

Other Interests:  "I love to spend time working out at the CRC, shooting targets on the archery field, and trying out new recipes."


Claire Tang

Claire Tang

Degree: Biology, minor in Math, Emory (graduated in 2013)

Research Interests: worked in Astrid Prinz's lab and Sam Sober's lab; currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in neuroscience at UCSF

Other Interests: "What I love about neuroscience is that it is moving towards giving people a whole new understanding of human psychology and sociology."


Abdul Zaheer

Abdul Zaheer

Degree: Computer Science and Biology, Emory (graduated in 2013)

Research Interests: worked in Elizabeth Buffalo's lab. Mechanisms of cognition and learning, decision-making, and correlation with activity in the amygdala really intrigue me.

Other Interests: "I love reading philosophy and fiction, stimulating conversations, clever research, and Sigur Ros."

Research Interests: Currently working in Dr. Joseph Manns's Lab. "I am fascinated by the neural mechanisms underlying various types of communication including language acquisition in humans and nonverbal signals in other species."

Other Interests: "I love writing short fiction, cooking, running, and observing animals."

Research Interests: Neural oscillations, Hippocampus, Epilepsy, Seizure detection.I am currently working at Dr. Robert Gross translational neuroengineering lab.

Other Interests: Running miles, movies, experimenting with tastes in cooking and baking, performance arts and languages

Research Interests: Currently working in Dr. Shawn Hochman¿s Lab. Interested in neural connectivity/communication in the spinal cord.

Other Interests: Robotics, playing saxophone, football, and country music

Research Interests: Currently working in Garrett Stanley's and Lena Ting's Lab

Other Interests: I love playing tennis with friends, reading books, and cooking!

Degree: Biomedical Engineering, Minor in Computer Science Georgia Tech (expected Spring 2015)

Research Interests: Working in Dr. Ting's biomechanics lab modelling neural posture control strategies. Other intrest in the field include NeuroInterface and neural networks and control systems.

Other Interests: Running, coding, playing video games, listening to interesting lectures.

Research Interests: Currently working in Astrid Prinz's Lab to develop a computational model on a novel form of synaptic plasticity in the pyloric circuit of the stomatogastric ganglion.

Other Interests: practice Taekwondo, perform chemistry demos, and engage in social justice work with Volunteer Emory

Research Interests: experimental machine design, peripheral nerve stimulation, nerve interfacing, and biointegration
